With the great discussion about black/grey locomotives, I was

wondering what people are using for Russian Iron.



I'll mention the link of Jerry Kitts of Foothill Model Works who has

posted the what is probably the definitive scientific explanation of

Russioan Iron.

With the great discussion about black/grey locomotives, I was

wondering what people are using for Russian Iron.

At one point in time, Floquil made a paint called "Russian Iron". It was a

medium-blue with a bit of metallic in it. I still have one, as I use it for

my Passenger engines.

I've started the learning process to acrylics. It would be interesting to

see if we could devise a match in those paints.
