Before you do anything,
Look around your neighborhood for people that have a monster of a antenna. Try to safely find out what thier results are & who built it up for them.

> Serious questions, we are paying $75 month (Comcast) for basic and expanded basic cable. Where am located is on top of a mountain here in PA. Before all this digital change, used to get... channel 6&8 from Johnstown,PA channels 9 & 10 from Altoona PA... from Pittsburgh got channel 2 (sometimes Baltimore would bleed in)channel 4 (faintly) channel 11 & 13 (which would be strong signal)channels 19 & 22 and 53 (weather would affect these)and from Clarksburg WV channel 5 and all these were using the old rabbit ears, no outside antenna. According to the FCC website if I put up an antenna would only get channel 6 (weak signal) and channel 8 (weak signal) both from Johnstown. And a possible faint signal on channel 3 from WV. Pittsburgh is about 70-80 miles NW Johnstown is 40 miles N Altoona about 70-80 miles NE. Am thinking would like to drop Comcast... BUT would the FCC be right even with an outside? Am I more less stuck? Would like some input from some others before dropping money on a system and only get 2 stations. DID try a indoor ran cable up into the attic and got nothing (and yes the TV tried on is a newer HDTV), was able to return to Best Buy with out a restocking fee. I would be thinking of mounting on a tower besides the house, ANY ideas?
