SteveI would compare.your numbers to.the TSP L2020 and L Income find allocations. You may also want to look at Vanguard.and T Rowe Price retirement funds targeted for 2015 to get an overall picture of what various other reputable firms are calculating.Sara.On Fri, Apr 8, 2011 at 10:16 AM, Steven stev5a@...> wrote:

.Hi I'm a long time reader of the group but haven't posted much. I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion or knows a good website to calculate the proper mix of funds for someone who plans to retire in two years, and then plans to start receiving a monthly payment. Real quick I have $450K in TSP, would like to earn 5% to 8% a year, and my intent is to be conservative. Using the calculator from TSP I have calculated with a 5% return that I could receive $2,500/mo for 30 years.

Anyway I just subscribed to Adam Bowls Smart 401K did the questionare they had ( I was rated 3 investor on a scale of 1-10, 1 being most conservative, Anyway this is what they suggested as my allocation

F 46%

G 21%I 5%C 20%S 8%

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions. I just want a second opinion. Thanks Steve
