Hello group:

I am new to this group, I would gladly translate the report if I can

get a copy of the italian one.. I am a native Spanish speaker but I

do speak italian, if I can be of any help? also, I do not have the

privilege of owning a TEC refractor, I do own a Meade 178 ED on a

custom german equatorial, I am currently the president of a Costa

Rican Foundation seeking to build a Public Observatory and have great

interest in quality refractors.

Sincerely

Ricardo Valverde.

Thank you Ricardo for offer. I have already ask our Italian dealer to translate

the report, but I do not know how long will it take...

Counting that report was written by Riccardo, too (but from Italy), I would be

glad to send you the magazine on Monday, please give me the address.

This will be the 3-rd report, one was in S&T, other was done in Japan (not in

the magazine, but vere effective).

Regards, Yuri

Hello Yuri and group:

I have only read and had great references upon the quality of your

instruments, congratulations! The S&T review I did read, I am really

looking forward to looking through one of your scopes in the near

future. If my help is still needed, it would probably be easier and

faster to send to my email address a scanned copy of the article, I

could have it translated overnight. I wouldn't want to interfere

though with the original author from Italy from doing it himself,

that would definitely be the best,

Regards,

- Dear Ricardo and Andrea, thank again for your offers. I have sent a letter to

Riccardo Renzi, author of the test report and lets just wait for his answer....

and you want believe, but answer came while I was printing this message:

"Hi Yuri, obviously no matter for the permission! For the publications in the

Yahoo group there are no troubles, on the other hand if you'd like to publish

the article in other forms (magazines, newspaper, advertisings) we need the

permission of COELUM magazine, but I believe not for this case af a simple

traslation for the Yahoo group.

Thank you to produce a so good telescope. I'd really like to have the

opportunity to test one of your maksutov scopes! Bests,

Rik"

So I am sending scanned copy to Ricardo in an hour.

Ricardo if you have any questions -Andrea may help you, or me if it technical

one.

Dear Ricardo, I did try twice yesterday to send you files , but both

times they came back.

I uploaded article in the group files: FILES>TESTS>, please check if

you can download it from there, or I will resend files on the new

I was a little impatient and went to the "conclusions" section and

typed a few of the sentences into the Google's language translation

page. Although the result was not quite proper English, it was pretty

obvious that this was a glowing review of TEC140, and the reviewer

was quite impressed using superlatives to refer to this as one of the

best visual instruments available.

I'm too lazy to type the whole article in, so, like Clem, I'd like to

know: when can we see the full review translated? :-)

-Paul

- The new file with translation of APO140 test just uploaded in Files.

I want to thank Ricardo Volio for spending his time for translation of the article

from Italian magazine, and Plinio Camaiti, technician and a journalist for

"Coelum Astronomia" magazine, who checked the translation and found it as

"well done, with only few things to correct".

Thank you Walter, the Japanese one was most productive in terms of

following changes that we have made after it. We spend time and money for

sourcing interior paint / coating and equipment to apply it. The result is

obvious: www.ImageHosting.com/images/Yuri/interiors.jpg

from left to right: APO140 and AP155 (both from reviewer pictures, TOA130

On the TOA130, would it make a difference if the eyepiece end was

closed as with the other pics?

I thought that TOA's eyepiece end was closed...? My Takahashi FS-128

has a bright shiny silver cap on the 1.25" visual back that looks just

like the TOA-130 picture. It has the Takahashi logo silkscreened on the

outside of the cap. Either way, it's hard to tell from that picture

whether it's the shiny silver cap, or if it's the white bed covering

behind the scope.

I would have to say that I really enjoyed working on the

translation, since I was also very curious and looked forward to

reading the report, the real people to say thanks to are the TEC

manufacturers for giving us the possibility to own such fine

instruments, Congratulations Yuri!

Since this picture was disscussed on AP group without knowing contest, I will

repeat that left two images were done in Japan at the same time and light

position. Other images : one from Astromart (TOA) and APO140 were made by

others . There was no Photoshop "enhancing" done, as some may think.
