I amguessing the 12" TEC dovetail is a little anemic for this OTA? Does TEC make 24"plates or what is recommended for the 200/9? I have a Casady Losmandy compatibledovetail on my AP1200. MikeClemens

Mike, I use a pair of 17" Losmandy plates (top and bottom).  I alsohave a pair of beefier 19"ers, but they weigh a good bit more and I really don'tneed them at all.  I recommend the 17's as they give you plenty of room toadjust for weight without having to loosen rings.  That includes useof 6 lb tube counter weight system on the back end for visual ;-) Good luck! Mark (SN: 006)

Mike, I just received that exact telescope from Yuri a couple of weeks ago. Yurirecommended strongly that I use the Astro-Physics 24 inch ribbed mountingplatefor my 1200 mount.  He did not like the Losmandy plate.  I did as he said and it works great. Mike Hood200ED F-9

Iapologize for taking up the bandwidth.>Wes  TECFEST!!!!  Yurishould issue TEC-logo slobber bibs as well as those nice embroideredcaps. Lovethe pictures. Now, that 200mm TEC looks small. I am assuming thedewshieldisfully retracted. But I am also wondering, were the TEC200FL made in an f/7versionat onetime? Because that scope looks way smaller than the 200 f/9 photos I'vebeengoggling at for days. Thesedays, is the TEC200 dewshield cap a snap-on cover now like its small siblings,

or aslip-on cap? MikeClemens

Why is Yuri hoarding those embroidered caps? I heard they were nice. I

looked on the web site and I couldn't find them. I want a shirt and a

cap with the TEC logo for my next star party. Where can I get them?

LeeA cople of years ago I had some tan caps silkscreened with a dark blue TEC logo. I mighthave 5 or 6 left...I sold them for $12 ea postpaid.  I'm sure Yuri's caps are much nicerbeing embroidered, but these do look OK. Wes

Thanks for the offer Wes. I do want the embroidered version though. I

heard they look great and you know how picky Yuri is so that would

explain it. Besides, there is something about getting an officially

sanctioned TEC piece of apparel :)
