Is there enough backfocus on a TEC140 to add a Pyxis Camera Rotator

to the image train that includes an Optec IFW filter wheel, an Optec

TFC focuser with a SBIG ST-10XME?

Has anyone had success with such a configuration?

Should work at native F/7: with ST10 and CFW8 one still needs a 1-2"

extension tube to reach focus with the focuser fully extended. Unless

camera rotator, IFW, and the TCF focuser together exceed 5", it

should focus fine, but I've not tried this specific configuration

before.

The closest I've come to it is to use NGF/S focuser, CFW-8 and

ST10xme. The focuser is about half-way out with this configuration,

meaning there's still room for another 2" worth of equipment.

I use an IFW and TFC focuser with a SXV-H9 camera (with 2"

nosepiece inserted into TCF). This leaves me approx. 1" of

backtravel. I therefore do not think that you will have enough

travel left for the Rotator.

Ralph,I expect you are right.  I measured 1 1/2"intravel left on the TEC140 FeatherTouch.  Optec shows the Pyxis is 1 1/2"thick.Dave----- Original Message -----From:astrotrailerTo: tec-scopes@yahoogroups.comSent: Friday, January 14, 2005 3:17PMSubject: [tec-scopes] Re: Optec PyxisCamera Rotator
