Hello,

Does someone know a free and full version Basic or C-compiler for

PIC-micro's (12 and 16 series)? It must be a version which works on

WinXP.

I did some searchwork on the internet, but all of them are demo

versions or dos-versions.

Thx in advance,

Matti

I think you are confusing compiler with IDE. A compiler reads a program from

a file and generates an executable which it writes to another file. The IDE

is not necessary for the compiler to do its job.

Looking at your problem another way, there are many good IDEs available

which can be used in conjunction with command line compilers (what you refer

to as dos-version compilers). Look for a compiler that does what you want

and then look for and IDE that will drive it.

Have a look at JALcc.
