AW: [multipsk] VDL2 FCDPP Control

Hi Patrick, when controlling the FCDPP from MultiPSK what is the importance of the AGC control?  My settings so far seem to indicate that AGC is on with 20db FCDPP gain set yielding a Global Level of about 0.7%.  Changing the gain to max (59db) and turning AGC off doesn't affect the Global Level but does change the waterfall display introducing much more 'visual' gain.  Should AGC be on or off when controlling the FCDPP?

Cheers,MikeNew Zealand

Hello Mike,  >Changing the gain to max (59db) and turning AGC off doesn't affect the Global Level but does change theIn VDL2, the AFC is related to the waterfall,. not to the signal demodulated and transmitted to the decoder.  >Should AGC be on or off when controlling the FCDPP?I think with the AGC, signals are more .visualizable. on the waterfall.  73Patrick    De : multipsk@yahoogroups.com [mailto:multipsk@yahoogroups.com] De la part de mde.jackson@...Envoy. : samedi 28 d.cembre 2013 00:58. : multipsk@yahoogroups.comObjet : [multipsk] VDL2 FCDPP Control

Turn down the gain in fcdpp!!!

The higher as 30 db (iirr) settings do NOT WORK!!!

Above the 30 db there is a "jump" to lowest gain again ... here setting

around 20-25 db seems to work best so far as I can tell
