Hi again,

I think I found a solution. I deleted the old installation and made a

new one. Now I am able to copy my recordings.

Any one care for a try ? I am calling cq on 10.136 +1000Hz (beacon mode

, calling very 30 sec)

Hope to see you !

Hi Steinar,

PSKAM10 needs to have a very precise sample rate for fine tuning. Make sure

you have done the calibration in 16 bits in MultiPSK for best performance.

If you could guarantee accuracy of tuning (for both hams) then it really can

work down to -20db or so. I have proved this with an HF channel simulator.

Of course doppler will affect the tuning too so in the real world it

probably won't work this far down into the noise.

I think for these types of modes we could do with a new application which

allows much more precise tuning. A waterfall display that only shows say

300Hz total (to match narrow IF filter) and manual controls to change

receive frequency (eg cursor keys). This would be much easier with a zoomed

display. A fixed transmit in the center of the display would be fine but it

is critical to be able to adjust the receive cursor manually without relying

on too much AFC because at such weak signals, any AFC is counter-productive

(of course both radios and soundcards would need good accuracy to start

with). I am not sure what soundcard sample rate would be required or the

size of the FFT/decimation etc but there would need to be very good

resolution to try it out.

I have found that even though DominoEX 4 bd is not as sensitive as these PSK

modes, sometimes it is better to use this in poor conditions because the

tuning is not so critical. Even if you cannot see the other signal you will

be tuned correctly.

I would also like to experiment with DominoEX 3bd, 2bd or 1 bd (I think it

would be extremely slow) but it would be interesting to compare it for very

weak signal work.

Hi Sholto,

Thanks for you response . PSKAM10 works fine after the new installation

. I was able to copy IW1AWH on 40m.

He is living in Milano about 1600Km from me, and was running 25W into a

8m long wire. Not bad at all , I think ;)

Hello to all, PSKAM10 is very sensitive. I did a lot of testswith a Ham in the south of France and he was reducing his output power down to100 mW. It is sensitive, but:* you must have calibrated your soundcard,* you must tune precisely the transmission (an RSID in this case permits to automatically tune),A previous RS ID for a beacon would be a"plus",* you must not have Doppler ionospheric modulation,as it is very dependant on this (is case of Doppler the phase can be almostrandom). Another very sensitive mode is the THROBX 2 bauds(but more difficult to tune that PSKAM10). 73Patrick  ----- Original Message -----From:SholtoFisherTo: multipsk@yahoogroups.comSent: Friday, January 04, 2008 7:20PMSubject: Re: [multipsk] PSKAM10 on 10.136+1000Hz
