I would like to signal a bug in Maxim DL 5.23, but present in previus

version.

1- Open an image in fit format.

2- Using the crop instrument, select a portion of the image near the middle

of image.

3- Press OK.

4- Try to use the remove bad pixels instrument. The command does not work.

5- Open an image in fit format.

6- Using the crop instrument, select a portion of the image with the upper

left corner at coordinates 0, 0.

7- Press OK.

8- Try to use the remove bad pixels instrument. The command now works.

9- Open an image in fit format.

10- Using a crop instrument, select a portion of the image with the upper

left corner at coordinates 10, 0.

11- Press OK.

12- Try to use the remove bad pixels instrument. The command does not work.

Like you can see the modification is done on the pixels that has the

coordinates = selected pixel coordinates - crop offset.

In this case, if I select the pixel at coordinates 10, 0, the change is

made on the pixel at coordinates 0, 0.

I hope this help.

Carlo

This is not a bug. If you crop the image such that the 0,0 coordinate is no

longer where it was, then the Remove Bad Pixel command is no longer in sync with

the image. You need to do the Remove Bad Pixel prior to cropping the image.
