Does anyone know whether MaximDL supports the Sbig remote guiding

head. I just recieved one and can't see how to set up the guider

since there is no option for it under "autoguider" setup. Any

suggestions? Thanks.

Try same as main camera and then look at the options of ST-L remote or

local.

Yes. You need to make the settings for the SBIG Universal driver. Go

to the Setup tab and click the Setup button for the main camera. Set

Guide Chip to ST-L Remote.

Brian,

I too just recently acquired the STL remote guider. As Steve Reilly

sez, just select "Same as Main Camera" for the guider. Then just

plug it in to the STL. If it's plugged in, it replaces the internal

guider chip.

That is incorrect. You have to specifically select which guide chip you

want in the camera setup dialog box.

Doug,

Where is this set?

I just dug thru everything and can't find any option for selecting

internal/external. I'm using "SBIG Universal" driver and guider is

set to "Same as Main Camera". The guider window goes on to say "Dual

Chip guider mode. It's definitely using the exteral camera.

I can't find anything for selecting it....it just shows up when

plugged in (or so it seems).

Thanks!

Steve,

In the latest version, 4.06/.07, under the setup for the main camera using

the SBIG Universal, look at the bottom three choices in that setup box and

open the guider choice.

It is somewhat hard to get use to but it really does make sense where it is.

Glad to help.
