Hi All,

Is there a VBScript command which reads the current telescope's

coordinates (RA,Dec) from MaxIm?

thanks

Hi Oliver,

I don't have an answer about reading Maxim data, but you can read both RA-DEC and Alt-Az from a small text file updated by TheSky6. I don't have TheSkyX, so can't confirm that.

TheSky6 Telescope/Server Settings setup has the box to specify where to log the scope position. You can specify the update period on the Telescope/Setup Cross hair update frequency.

You're looking in the wrong place. You need to get that information from the

ASCOM driver directly. (You may need to use a hub to share the connection, e.g.

POTH.)

Here's a script segment:

' Assumes link already created from POTH to the telescope

Set Tel = CreateObject ( "POTH.Telescope" )

RA = Tel.RightAscension

Dec = Tel.Declination

Doug-

How would this work using MaxPoint? Is it implemented as a hub like

POTH, or does it sit between POTH and the telescope driver, so you could

send an receive coordinates through it from another app?

Sure, MaxPoint is a hub and that would work.

Don't ask me! Track down the author...
