Re: Re-installation of v5.....

Hmmmmmm!

Because of the severe problems experienced trying to use Maxim v5 on my computer

I removed it and then did a registry clean.

I have now re-installed v5 - but it has retained many previous settings such as

the toolbar.

Why? Surely an uninstall should be exactly that? I feel little confidence in

trying to get it working if it already knows that it has been here before.

Lawrence,

Only the toolbar settings are saved in the Registry. Everything else goes into

the My Documents folder.

Sorry Doug - I have checked out the re-loaded v5 and it even shows my

telescope data entries!!!! It knows I have an RCX400!

MaxIm DL doesn't know that. The ASCOM Chooser knows that.

As I said in my previous email, MaxIm DL does *NOT* store its settings in the

Registry.

They are stored in My Documents/MaxIm DL 5/Settings.

If you want to blow out your settings, delete (or rename) that folder.

OK Doug - my misunderstanding. In the pressure of trying to fix it I

missed the previously stated point of the location of stored settings.

I will delete the folder and re-install again if necessary.
