Re: [MaxImDL] Quirky focus behavior with HX916

I have found that I must follow this sequencing in order to get the focus

window to work with my HX916:

1) Take an unbinned image.

2) Select the focus tab.

3) Select my focus rectangle around a suitable star on the unbinned

image.

4) Make sure that the focus control is set to 1x1 unbinned.

5) Begin focus routine (select "start").

6) Now if I want to focus at 2x2 binned, I can stop the focus routine,

change the control, and re-start the focus routine.

The two critical failure points are #1 and #4.

A) If I take a 2x2 binned image, the focus routine fails completely. No

star ever shows up in the focus window.

B) If I follow the steps up to #4 but then try to focus with the control

set to 2x2 binned, I get the same result- no star in the focus window. I

have to first start the focus routine at 1x1 unbinned, stop it, then

re-start at 2x2 binned.

Is anyone else encountering these same issues? Has anyone figured out a

workaround?

And does Cyanogen know about them and/or plan to fix them?

Cheers,

Paul Sterngold

No, but we do now. I have assigned that to a programmer for investigation.

Hi George,

I think it is interesting for us all to know what is going onwith that. For me the focus routine is also very sensitive if youstart it while the camera is in the guiding mode. I have gotten theerror 1017 more that once in that situation.
