I'm trying to make a time lapse using 30 fits frames of 3500X2775 pixels, and end up with a reasonable file size to put on a website.

How do I resize the AVI after its made? I've tried resizing the images first, but I still end up with a huge file.

Thanks

Bill

You can convert the avi to xvid, divx, or mp4 codex, and have a much smaller

file while retaining a lot of the quality. There are a lot of programs out

there that will do this. Some are free, while others cost a bit of money.

Programs like AVS video converter and TMPGEnc (both of which cost a bit of

money), work well. You might also want to check out Gordian Knot, which is

a suit of open source video tools.

You would probably be better making an animated gif like the ones here ...

www.lakestudio.co.uk/garden_obs/comets/comet_anims.htm

.....for example

These were made using Photoscape which is FREE

You do need to convert the fits to a format that Photoscape uses though but the rest is easy.

Just a thought
