Hi

If I use the Information window in MaxIm, it shows the Bakcground average

(BGD avg). Is that value expressed in ADUs? If not, can it be measured in

ADUs?

Thanks for your help,

Alfredo

It's in ADUs.

It is measured in ADUs; but if the image has been calibrated, you will need to subtract the pedestal first.

Does this value shown in ADUs have a "pedestal value" of 100? or is it the

actual value in ADUs

Thanks for your help

Thanks Hilary

So, if the image is not calibrated I won't have to substract the pedestal.

Could you please tell me which value is the pedestal?

Best,

Alfredo

Alfredo in MaximDL, I use ver 4.51, the Set Calibration panel, "Advanced

Settings" at the bottom, shows the Pedestal added to the Calibration Masters

by Maxim. The default value is '100', the lowest is '10'.

Also, depending upon your camera, you may need to check SBIG Driver

Checker's documentation. Some older Drivers used to apply Pedestals.

HTH...joe :)
