Re: [MaxImDL] Question about controlling and guiding a Gemini 1 L4 System

I'm working on getting an older MI-250 GOTO with the Gemini 1 working after doing some mechanical repairs to it. I've learned the basics of using the Gemini system for visual via the hand controller, but what setting do I use in Maxim to connect to it? I looked over the Gemini manual and didn't see anything specific other than it said that most programs will have a Gemini selection, or if not use LX200. Also is it possible to guide directly over the connection or will I need an ST4 interface and cable?

Thanks! Josh

Hi, Josh,

Nice timing. Paul Kanevsky just posted this on the Gemini II User Group on

Sunday:

---------------

Folks,

A new version of the driver is now in the files section here:

groups.yahoo.com/group/Gemini-II/files/Driver_and_System_files/The_AS

COM_Gemini_Driver

The changes in this version are:

1. Fix for SideOfPier and DestinationSideOfPier logic

2. Throw an exception in case of SideOfPier processing is disabled

3. Add support for Conform interfaces

4. Add persistence for message-tray options to preserve them across sessions

5. Resolve UTCDate format issue introduced with new time format in Gemini-2

Regards,

-Paul

---------------

This should take care of your needs!

Regards,

Greg

Thanks Greg. Is this for Gemini 1 or 2?

Hi, Josh,

Grrr! I forgot to add the amendment from Tom Hilton, posted just today. Here

'tis:

---------------

Folks,

The driver is designed to support both, Gemini-1 and Gemini-2 users for the

conceivable future. The latest driver, 1.0.49, has some bug fixes and

enhancements that should benefit both, G1 and G2 users.

Therefore, I recommend that you upgrade to the latest driver version

whenever you have a chance.

Regards,

-Paul

---------------

*Now* you should be in good shape! ;)

Regards,

Greg
