This weekend under very poor transparency I imaged IC-5070 in Ha. One
session was 11 x 5 minutes the other 18 x 10 minutes. It took every
processing newbie trick I knew to get anything out of the 10 x 5 min
and only adjusting the levels and a little contrast on the 18 x 10
min. I think a testament to the power of narrowband and lots of data.
I could only see a hand full of stars all night with my naked eye.
A blog ("IC-5070 The Pelican Nebula") on my website has side by sides
and I invite tips on how to bring out more detail the 18 x 10 min. I
made a pass but the smaller stars started to square off so left almost
I have been doing most of my processing in PS but am looking for
advice on pre-processing in MaximDL
(Sorry in advance for posting this on multiple forums but I seem to
get different help in each)
