R: [Losmandy_users] Ovision spacer: is it worth its cost?

Dear all,

as a G11 owner, I've been recently looking into upgrading mine with

the Ovision kit, mostrly thanks to the impressive and consistent

results that are being obtained by all those who have already decided

to take this step.

Just one thought, though. The Ovision kit comes in two flavors,

the "vanilla" one with just the worm + its housing, and the

"chocolate" one which also has a spacer for better past-meridian

imaging.

Because of the sheer difference in price, I've been wondering: is it

really worthwhile to go for the full-fledged upgrade kit?

And, how come such a "simple" spacer costs that much?

Thanks in advance

Frankly, I would not go for the spacer unless your imaging setup is really

light and your image scale is low. I have always experienced a drastic

worsening of performances on the other side of the meridian.

However if it would work it would not be a ba thing at all!

ciao, gimmi
