Hi all,

I've finally broken down and purchased a new GM-8 with Gemini. I'm

having a couple of problems that the instructions don't address. If

you can help, I'd sure appreciate it.

Problem 1. Alt Adjustment - The Alt Adj seems like it is starting to

bind if I try to go above 40 north or below 35 north. It

is "extremely" tight past that range and I feel like I'm about to

pop something if I keep turning. Is there a way to adjust so it's

not so bound up? Am I doing something wrong? I'm at 47north.

Problem 2. The gemini Digital Drive box is too wide for the brackets

to mount. Am I supposed to scrape that thing in to bolt it up.

I know I'm being cautious, but I just plunked down a wad o' cash and

don't want to break it before I use it.

thanks for any help you can give, I'm a tad stressed right now!

Cheers!

Steve

On the alt you need to loosen up the 2 locking bolts (one on each side) just above the pivot bolts. (just loosen them up enough to let the washer hang free)

Same with az adjust just loosen up the wing nuts on the base of the mount.

This should allow both axis to move smoothly

My G-11 come the same way with the Gemini Mounting arms....

I had to lightly tweak my arms out a bit to allow the Gemini box to slide in without rubing.

Best of luck! ----- Original Message -----

Thanks Snake,

I've got the Alt solved, but when you say "tweak" the bracket arms,

what are we talking about. I'm not real keen on taking a hammer to

the bracket. Is that what I need to do?

thanks again, (I'm almost there!)

No hammer! :-)

I would use a pair of chanel locks with something around the jaws to keep from scratching the paint.

and just lightly bend them key word here LIGHTLY!

just move them enough to alow the gemini to go into there. ----- Original Message -----
