Hi All,

In my new G11 seems that DEC shaft moves slightly (a few millimeters) to left and right, even with both RA and DEC clutches tightened and OTA plus counterweight installed.

Is it normal? If so, how much play is optimal for that?

Any suggestions are welcome,

Ali

Hi Ali,

In the RA 1-2mm at the end of the counter weight shaft is recommended.

The DEC should have no or very little play, because it reverses direction during guiding, where lag from big lash is not good.

Loosen up the Alan screw on the little worm gear housing and move it so that it takes up the slack. Do not over tighten the Alan screw.
