Hi Russ,

I went with the 1620 w/foam.and have been happy with the choice. My G11 has the newer (longer) motors and there is just enough space to accommodate them. The case holds the mount head only including the dovetail plate. I pack the Gemini2, Gem2 HC, CW bar, CWs, and tripod separately; no tools required for breakdown/setup.

Hi Russ,

I use a.Pelican 1610 Case with my Losmandy G-11 mount and it fits perfect. The case came with pluck foam and is built like a tank. Amazon sells them for around $199.

I just bought a Pelican 1620 for my G11. I like the dimensions of the 1620 because I can store the G11 with the elevation set to the latitude where I live. That is,I don't have to screw it down to 20 degrees to store it away like I did when I was still using the box the G11 came in. It's a great case.
