Re: PEC training with autoguider possible?? -- New M57 STV guided Image

Has anybody ever used autoguider to train PEC? I got to thinking

about this when using an STV recently. I was thinking if it could

and then guide from there, it would be that much better.

The only difficulty I see, is so far I have found it likes 2X speed

better which cannot be used with PEC.

Anybody??

Kevin,

I'd be curious as well if anyone has successfully trained the PEC

using a CCD, but my STV is doing incredibly well without PEC for

imaging at 900mm--100% keepers! My latest attempt is at:

Also, you're are one of several who say you are using 2x guide

speed. I tried that the other night and it actually was worse for me

yielding 1.0-1.5" average error (still good), whereas I'm getting 0.3-

0.8" error using 0.5x guide speed. I also notice the error in y is

always about double the error in x and cutting the y aggressiveness

does not help. I wonder why. I do both calibrating and guiding at

0.5x. Take care.

I have never tried it with the standard G11 controller, but I have done it

many times with the Skywalker and also with my old Gpdx+Skysensor 2000.

It should work very well.

It does not seem to help with a G11 and an st4, it does help with an LX200.

Mike,

What focal ratio? I was using STV deluxe at 100mm and when on .5

and .3 I get "no move errors" on relay 3. But, I have done very well

at the 2x. Near 100% perfect even at F10 imaging while still using a

100mm lens! I have noticed that the STV seems very sensitive to

having the exact focal ratio input into menu.
