Hi,

Yesterday I was playing around a little bit with AstroSnap Pro v2.0b

and mesuring my PEC with this software. The PEC was about + - 5"

arcseconds but what irritated me was that I had a East-West drift.

Does this East - West drift come from a misalignment ? The value

after about 12min was around 14" arcseconds.

Is this a high or low value and should I worry about it ?

If I understand all my learnings correctly this East - West drift

give me the so called field rotation ?

Some comments ?

regards Rainer

Yes, misalignment can cause apparent speed errors in RA. IIRC,

atmospheric refraction can also cause errors. I don't have any info on

the quantities expected in such errors, but a Google search my find you

something.
