I don't know yet about the rest of your questions, but I just experimented

the other night with sending 'additional align' commands to the Gemini using

TheSky, and it seemed to work fine. Procedure was to do a cold start at the

scope, do an initial align (or Synchronize in Level 3), then once I had the

first star done I could establish a link with TheSky (remotely) and slew to

the next star. Once I had that centered up in the camera (using the

telescope motion controls in TheSky) I opened up the terminal (under

Telescope|Options|Terminal), typed in ":Cm#" (without the quotes), hit send,

and it would do the additional align.

Yes, that would work, a bit clunky though. I assume the Ascom driver

will allow a more elegant solution.
