Hi Chris,

Do you have a planetarium software ? You can also use a SAO star as

far as I know.

You talk about PAS

for us PAS = Polar Align Scope

PAC = Polar Axis Correction

PAA = Polar Align Assist

What are you trying to do really ?

I have never done the PAC or the PAA. I align my G11 as good as

possible with the PAS Polar Align Scope and then a first Synchronize

and then several Additional Alignments and I always get an accuracy

of less than 5 arcminutes.

Every object I goto is always in my 12mm reticle eyepiece and that

with 1000mm focal length.

OK, that is my experience.

OK you are right i wrote PAS instead of.PAA..

I have just bought the G11 but without Pas because i am very confident in

the accuracy of its electronics.

Does someone use Paa for polar align and is it good enough for imaging at

long focal length (C11 is 2800 without focal reducer)?

Hi Chris,

Well that is now clear. There has been a nice thread about PAS or not

PAS and as far as I remeber most of the people agreed that the PAS is

a great advantage for the first rough polar alignment.

I have imaged without autoguiding just tracking with a focal length

of about 2340mm and I am satisfied.

regards Rainer
