Tilt-in, but you can set it up to slide in also. Either way.

Hi Greg,

Like all Astro-Physics dovetail plates, it is a tilt-in style. It also

features wide milled slots to allow greater range of movement for the

Losmandy plates. The slots are wide enough so the safety knobs of the

Losmandy plates slide right in rather than stopping at the edge of the

dovetail plate. The DOVELM2 also has this feature. In addition, the hole

pattern for mount attachment is offset from the center so that you can

mount the plate two ways depending on how your load is balanced. For

this particular plate, we have chosen to use the block locking design

much like the Losmandy and Mueller plates.

Do you have to take the mount off of the pier in order to install this new

adjuster?

Yes. In order to get at the screws holding down the current adjusting

blocks, remove them and install the new adjuster, you have to be able

to access the bottom side of the base plate of the RA section. This

is explained in sowmewhat different words on the AP website.
