Just got a chance to take a look at the composite.



WOW! The depth of the image is incredible. That statement

doesn't begin to scratch the surface, but I don't know that

I could say more if I took a page to comment. Overwhelming

might be more accurate.

Hi Astro-Folks,



Thank you all for your generous comments. We will be tweaking the image a bit

here and there, as well as adding more of the outer detail as it becomes

available. One thing that I need to do is adjust the color balance a bit.

This is the way it came out after combining the three color channels, but now

that I see it on the various web sites, it looks a bit too greenish. Tony

Hallas commented on that.



I guess color is not my strong suit. The problem is that if the green channel

is de-emphasized, we seem to loose some of that gossamer veiling that is

present - apparently from the H-beta light. Also, most images that I've seen

depict the red light with a decidedly warmer orange hue. Since this is

actually H-alpha light, it should be very deep dark red, but that makes the

image look rather somber. I'll see if I can strike a happy balance.
