��It is with great pleasure that weannounce the dates for the 2nd annual Conferenceon Robotic Telescopes, Student Research andEducation (RTSRE, rtsre.net) to beheld in Hilo on the lush eastern coast of theBig Island of Hawai���i July 23rd - 25th, 2018!The conference will be co-located with theinterNational Astronomy Teaching Summit (iNATS)from July 25th - 27th, 2018. The overlap isbeing coordinated by both planning committees,providing an entire five-days of highly valuablesessions and workshops. The RTSRE conferenceseries focuses on building a sustainablecommunity around the educational, technical andstudent research uses of robotic telescopes,from small through to large aperture and fromradio through to gamma-ray. It aims to be ameeting place for astronomers, educators,researchers, and observatory and telescopenetwork developers and managers, in a continuingeffort to share and combine resources, developand enhance education and research programs, andfoster global conversations and collaborations.The co-located CAPER Team���s iNATS astronomyeducation summit at the end of the week providesworldwide networking opportunities and hands-onworkshops designed to expand educators��� teachingstrategy toolkit designed for innovativeastronomy professors, school teachers, andoutreach professionals. ��Both individualand joint meeting registration opportunities areavailable.The diverse program meeting includes afamily program, guided-tours of observatories,visiting the astronomy and cultural educationcenter & planetarium and the nationalvolcano park, and a workshop for novice robotictelescope users and educators to learn how to dohands-on astronomy research projects with theirstudents.
Student researchers are highlyencouraged to attend and present theirscientific work at the conference in a specialposter session.
