I am confused about the terminology of astrophysics scopes.

On a previous post I saw

EDT = "Extra low dispersion, triplet"

EDF = "Extra Low dispersion, fast"

EDFS= Extra Low dispersion, fast, small" as in 2.7" focuser vs 4

even on the astrophysics website under 130 edfs it shows a scope

that has edf on the dew cap.

The way I see it the ap 130edf and the 130edfs are the same scope

since I do not think that the 130's came with a 4 inch focuser.

Could it be that the older f6 130's are called edf and the more

recent are called edfs?

I am not referring to the prototype 130 f6.3 edfs.

I just purchased a 130edf f6 on astromart and I really am so happy

that I don't really care a great deal if there is a difference since

I know that either will be great. I was just curious on a night of

freezing rain.

thanks,

jeff

No worries, there is no large focuser version of the 130 so any "S"

designation would be non-sensical. They would all be "S" models in the 130/6

EDF.

The dewshields always said "EDF", even in the 155-EDF and 155-EDFS where

there really was a distinction to be made via the S.
