Really? Could something else go wrong?     Interesting that the clip was published in thearchitecture  section.     What kind of architect would design a .catcher.s mitt.shape to face strong winds funneled towards downtown high rise buildings? Whatcity building official passed this design? Don.t think I would feel safe workingin such a structure, on a stormy day. They are also liable for any touristlooking up to admire the building and damaging their eyesight. It is so bad, inso many ways.     I would be interested in what fix they apply to theproblem . replace all the windows with anti-glare versions? Expensive, blockslight for the inhabitants, and doesn.t solve the high winds danger. Joe From: Mike CSent: Friday, March 14, 2014 1:47 PMTo: ap-ug@yahoogroups.comSubject: [ap-ug] a skyscraper shaped like a concave bowl ofglass

The same architect also designed the Vdarahotel in Las Vegas . It has the same problem, nicknamed the “Vdara Death Ray”

So much for instantaneous news on the internet.

You realize that was a news story from last year, Mike? g>

Build the entire southern face of a city this way and point them all at a steam energy station.

The sun moves during the day. The buildings would have to rotate to keep focus at one point. A giant 3600 mount could do it! (36,000,000 mount?) Rolando

Would concentric rings of such segment buildings, focused on a circular liquid  sodium tube receiver, work?As the sun moves, different sectors with segments of buildings would takeover beaming sun rays, as would segments in all concentric rows. An industrialpark complex of such buildings might work. If not on earth, how about the moon, where the days are longer? From: chris1011@...Sent: Friday, March 14, 2014 3:53 PMTo: ap-ug@yahoogroups.comSubject: Re: [ap-ug] a skyscraper shaped like a concave bowl ofglass
