I seem to have got my 1200 into an odd state. I installed ASCOM 2 about 3 months ago and use Cartes du Ciel to point the scope, etc. I end a session by going to Park 1 before power off. I have to manually move the scope slightly after power is off to be comfortable with the roof closing clearance.

For start up, I manually level the mount/scope after opening the roof. I power up with the handset and resume from Park 1, goto a suitable star and do a ReCal. I then connect the computer via ASCOM and connect tracking also. The mount will move to any CdC selected object, so all is golden. However, when I use the handset, if I select a star the goto works OK, but if I select a Messier object to goto with the handset, it reports the object is below the horizon. If I go back to the computer, select the same M object, it goes where it is told.

Any clue ??

Thx,

You may have lost your keypad database due to a dead memory battery. You may need to install a new battery and download the database back into your keypad. Can be done easily by following instructions on our website. George at AP can help you if you need.Rolando (presently on vacation in Hawaii)-----Original Message-----
