A friend of mine has an older 1200 mount mid 90s or so, Ithink it is the sqmd or qmd (it is NOT GTO, I think there were only of fewconfigured this way)would it be possible to upgrade this mount to thelatest version of the 1200GTO (which I know is no longer produced)? Wouldthe latest polar scopes work on this mount? Thanks Mike J. Mike, It is not possible to upgrade a 1200QMD to a 1200GTO. However, the polar scope will work in all but the very earliest 1200 mounts. It would be best to send me a photo ofthe back of the 1200 RA axis before purchasing the polar scope. Regards, George George WhitneyAstro-Physics, Inc.Phone: 815-282-1513Email: george@...
