Re: [ap-gto] 400GTO Upgrade and a question

I did the servo controller box chip upgrade and hand controller firmware

update over the weekend. No problems at all. I'd say the worse part is

applying either too little 'pull' on the extraction tool versus not pulling

enough. It seemed all or nothing considering you are admonished not to use

the carrier for leverage, which I did not. BTW: Though my 400GTO original

chip was dated 06/2000 and did not support the update, dip switch #2 was

already in the on position.

A quick question.

My 900GTO was delivered in June or July of this year (2001), and as such has

the new controller chip. Could I have updated it's the 900GTO's hand

controller using the 400GTO's servo control box? Or does the update process

also modified code and/or values in the servo controller box's chip? It just

would have been handy to unplug the 400GTO's hand controller and then

immediately plug in and update the 900's hand controller. But I was not

sure if the 900GTO's servo controller box would then not have some essential

software updated. I assume, since it already has the new chip, dip switch #2

would be on.

Know what I mean? :)

You can update the keypad with either the 400 or 900 mount servo. The servo

software cannot be changed - it's essentially firmware. Only the keypad

software can be changed.
