400GTO lockup question

I have a question about a lockup that occurred this past Saturday.

Aftere setting up and calibrating, I like to point the scope at

celestial North to see the view through my finder scope. Just a double

check.

After doing a two star calibration and exiting the calibration routine,

I went up to the Objects menu, then selected R/D. I arrowed right

through the RA numbers, then entered +90:00:00. Nothing at all

happened. No buttons on the Keypad Controller seemed to work, so I

simply unplugged and started over. As a check, I repeated the same

procedure, attempting to go to +90 degrees again. Same thing again, a

total lockup. The NEXT time I decided to skip the pole, and settled for

Jupiter instead.

The polar alignment was good; everything else worked great the rest of

the night, at least until my toes went numb a few hours later. I hate

to pack it up when the coffee is working.

I have used the keypad to see celestial North before, although I'm not

sure if I used the RA that was already on the display (by using the

right arrow key). Any advice, etc will be appreciated.

Here's another question: What's a good way to run the mount indoors for

a shakeout? Resume from park?
