Marj,

I just received my 900GTO on January 18th and haven't opened the

boxes yet. Is there any chance that the shaft that shipped with it

will accept the new extensions?

of the counterweight shaft. The end of the new 19.5" shaft is machined

to accept 9" extensions (M12675) so that you don't have to order the

28" shaft for a larger scope. The new shaft also features a large

diameter machined safety knob (the washer is no longer needed). The

new counterweight shaft, extensions and safety knob will be available

as upgrades for all older 1200 and 900 mounts (prices not available

yet). The new extensions and safety knob will NOT fit onto the

original counterweight shafts. The photographs on the 1200GTO page do

not show this change.

Dear Harvey,

I'm afraid not. The design for the 1200 is new.

Harvey,

I don't think this would be feasible since it would require a setup on the CNC. It would cost more than just purchasing a completed one.

Thanks Marj. Just curious about it.

I doubt that I'll ever need an extension and would probably

prefer a longer solid shaft anyway, if needed. However, could the

existing original shafts be modified to accept the new extensions?

Hi Marj,

Any chance some pictures and descriptions of the new counterweight

shaft and extension(s) will be added to the website soon? I don't

think I'll be changing anything since I already purchased the long

1200 counterweight shaft but it would be nice to see what you have

come up with.

On a similar note, any further information on the new pier for the

Mach1GTO?
