Re: 1200 Pier top blueprint

I'm working on the new pier top for my observatory and would like to do the

layout of the hold down bolts and azimuth block without pulling the mount

off the existing set up. The pdf page that gives the specs for the Standard

Pier Adaptor shows the 'B' mounting holes, but no dimensions. Also the

distance from center and center to center of the Azimuth block would be

appreciated! Are the Azimuth block hold downs 1/4"-20?

I am not installing a standard pier adaptor, I am machining the holes

directly into the top of the 2" thick aluminum block.

PS....I've already programmed the hole pattern into it for the 1600 that

will sit on it in the future!

Hi Steve,

I made my own plate adapter like the one shown on the web site for my 1200. I will put the drawings together tonight and put them in the files section.

I want to check with AP first and make sure they don't mind me doing that as it is an exact copy of the one they sell. I can at least give you the dimensions that you are asking for.

Thanks,

Randy

Hi Steve,

AP would rather that I did not post a complete drawing publicly. I don't blame them as it is their design. They did say that you and I could communicate privately.

Please contact me through my e-mail address: rzugnoni@.... I can give you all of the information that you need. I could also give you my phone number if you have any more questions.

I poured a concrete pier for mine.
