Adjusted the gear mesh on the 1200 last night and it lookslike the gears under the gear covers could use a touch of grease-they arepretty dry.  Any recommendations as to a grease-one that may be availableat a reasonably stocked hardware/home store that would work here? Lubriplate 105 perhaps, which I have some of or?  Also, do the worm gears need to be greased or regreased aswell?  Would this be the same grease used on the gears under the gearcovers?  I assume that this would require removing the whole assembly fromthe mount.  System is in Southern Arizona at 5000’ elevation so wecan go from under freezing in the winter to almost 100 in the summer.  Thanks  Mike J. Get a can of Aeroshell 33 MS. It will last you a lifetime. Can be used on a lot of things besides the mount gears. It is good to -40F, doesn't get too stiff in the cold and has good lube properties.  Rolando  -----Original Message-----

Will Aeroshell 33 MS work for both worm gears and spur gears (inside gearbox)? It's not too thick for spur gears?

Thanks,Peter

Thank you.I assume that this is a common item.or.? If I can.t find this stuff, any reasonable substitutes?

And do the worm gears(s) get done with this stuff?

Do I need to get any previous grease off of the gears?

I have the same amount of hair I had in my youth. Unfortunately, it is now growing in all the wrong places.

I bought a container of Aeroshell 33 MS, enough I suspect to lube the entire production run of AP mounts for several years,  To avoid this issue replayed over and over and creating a spike in oil consumption and a run on Shell stock, here is the deal.

anyone that paypals me 15 usd, will get a small container of this magical stuff along with an application brush ..... enough to grease your mount 10 times over.....

paypal me at (frcruz@...)

This is a US offer only.

A disclaimer......this is not an AP deal and if you manage to use all of what I send you.....you used too much by a factor of at least 20x...
