Hi all,

Quick question (nothing to do with server being up or down so keep your powder dry :-) ) is there a way of keeping the height shown in the aircraft view to sort themselves continually so 0 feet stays at the top, I know I can click on the height to sort them but is there a way of doing this automatically similar to the SBS sidebar?

#77200 Feb 9, 2013

Jeff,

View- Aircraft list display Options - Auto Sort (tick it)

Then click the Black Plane Symbol on toolbar and then click the heading you want sorted, this will sort the Aircraft View Window ('a' lowercase key)

Nic

Hi Jeff

View

Aircraft list/view display options...Auto sort

Auto sort

If this option is checked, PlanePlotter will automatically repeat any column

sorting that you have initiated by clicking on a column heading. Be aware

that if you have a large number of active aircraft, the sorting process can

take a significant amount of time. This could exceed the capability of your

processor resources and may result in sluggish operation.

I am no expert (!) but I think you need to bring up the aircraft list first

- either from the drop-down list or "A" (upper case) - tick Auto-Sort and

then click the required heading to sort (and click again to sort in the

reverse order). Then when you are looking at the screen you can press "a"

(lower case) and the list will be sorted as you last set.

If, like me, you do not leave PP running 24/7, every time you switch on PP,

you have to bring up the aircraft list and sort as required - even though

Auto-Sort will have remained ticked.

PS I have been out all day - has the server been down?

Interesting re the upper and lower case 'a/A'

I have always used the lower case a to open the window and sorted as I need,

usually flight number. Autosort is ticked, however have to re-sort at

frequent intervals as autosort does not seem to work all the time. I just

used Upper case A and the view window opened in a different column order,

however the sort worked identically. After I reverted to the chart and

reopened Aircraft View using 'a' my original layout reappeared. Will need to

keep an eye on whether the autosort now works as it should.

The AutoSort column has to be set in the Aircraft View 'A' or clicking the Black Aircraft Symbol on the tool bar (which is what I do).

Then in the 'a' window Auto sort will work without issue well It does here ;-)

Nic,

Seems to work here now I know how it is set up properly. Always used the 'a'

as that is the menu shortcut and it opens in separate window.

Hi All,

I have downloaded company logos and flags to which display in aircraft view table.

All is working as it should, well nearly

The flags seem to fit into the cells fine but the company logos are slightly overhanging the cell top to bottom.

If I adjust the font size and type I can get things a little better but its almost as though the flags adjust to the font size and table cell borders okay but the logos to not.

Thanks Guys,

Mike.

Hi Mike,

You need to resize your logos too 44x16 to make them fit.

Download FastStone Photo Resizer and point it to where your

logos are. Select Add All==> into the righthand pane and

then amend the size down in the Use Advanced Options

(Resize.) section.

Thank you Ray

I will do as you advise. Incidentally,

I use another faststone product already, faststone image viewer for quick loading of raw image files, its a great free program no doubt the resizer will be just as good.

Cheers Ray and thanks for your help.

Mike.
