Hello to the group.

Each time I upload from ACL to LoTW, I end up sending everything in my log (over 600 items). I have tried all the options to limit the selection, but nothing seems to work.

I am sure that one of my parameters must be incorrect.

I will be happy to do more research on my own if someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Bob

William,

Thanks for the suggestion, but as I mentioned in my initial post (but did not spell out in excruciating detail), I have tried ALL METHODS to limit the number of QSOs that were uploaded.

In other words:

I use a range of dates - ACL sends all 600+ QSOs.

I use "All Since Last uploaad" - ACL sends all 600+ QSOs.

I use SELECTED with just 3 or 4 items - ACL sends ALL 600+ QSO.

So the question remains, what parameter or technique am I missing?

Thanks for good thoughts on this, LoTW documentation specifically says to not send all contacts after your first upload.

If I don't get this fixed they may revoke my QSL card from W1AW.

Bob

Bob,

If you look at ACLog, does the Sent ('S') column show that the qso's

have been uploaded (sent) ? After you upload, you must download (all

since, or all data). You should wait a few hours after you do the upload,

for LOTW to process the upload. When you do the download, ACLog will

download and mark the qso's as 'sent' and then should not try to send

them again unless you select to upload the entire log. ACLog doesn't

mark qso's as uploaded until a download from LOTW confirms that they

were received and posted to the database.

After you get a successful download, with qso's marked 'sent', then

for future uploads, only select 'All Contacts not Uploaded' and ACLog

should only send those qso's that have not been marked sent.

William and Bob,

I have noticed the same thing. I was going to mention it but havehad other rabbits to chase. The worst part of this is that thisfurther clogs up the already clogged LOTW server.

The data that is uploaded by ACLog must be correct because LOTWprocesses it (eventually) with no complaints.

Bob, If you highlight the entries you want to send, then choose upload chosen logs (top selection on left column) then it will sendonly what you have highlighted. It will ask if want to sign them and then send only signed selections. You select OK at each step and that should fix your problem. DannyKE5WDI

Recap of efforts so far:

(Thanks to NR4C, K9IJ, KE5WDI, W4BQP for their support.

I have looked at LoTW and seen 669 QSL records. Some of these were not marked as sent, so I downloaded all data and now all entries are in sent status.

I Changed the date format that displays on my computer to match the yyyy-mm-dd that ACL/LoTW displays. Then I did an upload requesting only unsent QSLs with a date range from 2012-08-15 to 2012-08-19. The upload sent ALL records (now at 695 after last night's fun with the QSO party).

I waited until the new QSL records showed up on LoTW and did another download so that all records show "Sent".

Went through and patched a couple of records that didn't have the power level filled in and tried to send those TWO records. Result? 695 records uploaded.

SO - I am back to square one. Why is ACL sending all of my QSL records without regard to any of the date or status parameters?

What next?

Thanks and 73,

Bob W4YBB

Hi Bob, I'm afraid you lost me.  There are three upload options on the LoTW form: -  Selected Contacts from the main form -  All Contacts not uploaded -  Entire Log. There isn't an upload option on the LoTW form for a specific date range.  You said "Then I did an upload requesting only unsent QSLs with a date range from 2012-08-15 to 2012-08-19".  Which button on the LoTW form did you click to upload your contacts?

Specifically, I clicked on "All Contacts not uploaded" which then gives an option to specify a date range - which I did.

The result was an upload of ALL records.

I have tried all the options. All of them give me the same result. Every entry in the log is uploaded every time.

By the way version 3.2 is the latest, right?

Bill,

The select and export to ADIF does work, but I don't want to do it this way every time. ('Cause I'm lazy and would rather let Scott's program do the work.)

Scott,

It isn't your program that is asking for the date range. It is theLOTW signing program. I believe that this is happening after ACLogpasses control to LOTW.

I have also noticed that if I highlight several log records thenclick on "Select Contacts from the main form" that the highlightingdisappears just after I click on the button and before the nextscreen comes up.

Hi Bob,

.I'm afraid you lost me.. There are three uploadoptions on the LoTW form:.-. Selected Contacts from the main form.-. All Contacts not uploaded.-. Entire Log..There isn't an upload option on the LoTW form for aspecific date range.. You said "Then I did an uploadrequesting only unsent QSLs with a date range from2012-08-15 to 2012-08-19".. Which button on the LoTWform did you click to upload your contacts?..73, ScottN3FJPwww.n3fjp.com.Serving the Amateur Radio community withcontesting and general logging software since 1997.

Hi Jim,

I just double checked and even though the highlights seem to disappear when you click the command button, the program is working properly, remembering the user's selection, either way (by menu option or command button). I thought sure, if there was a problem, it would have come to light years ago if it wasn't. So, whatever anomaly Bob is experiencing, that's not the cause.
