----------------------------

2 separate issues here... 1) Has anybody developed a mod for/know of IBM intent to, support PROXY on an FTP? The desire here is for "other machines" to perform RJE type functions to an IBM, without all the hastles of having users on these other machines have an IBM id/password and "other machine's" id/password. Interlink offers this type functionality in some of its products (I already know). Ideally the "other machine" id(s) would be associated with an id on the IBM and blessed to proxy work on an IBM...thoughts, comments... 2) LPR...It seems circa 360/370 IBM *ALWAYS* took consideration for accounting for work performed; you could charge the user by the sneeze if you so desired. What is offered today in terms of (*cringe*) CHARGEBACK funcitonality in LPR??? For instance, our datacenter has invested in some rather large high speed printing devices for our mainframe, but it would be great to extend this same functionality to users on "other machines"...and we do!!! And boy can you create a BUNCH of output on some machines like a CRAY!!! HOWEVER, LPR just doesn't seem to offer the robust, or should I say ANY, charging mechanism (that I know of)...what has anybody written, or IBM intent (Bill, hint hint) done to accomodate this...or is chargeback just passe in this 'new world order'?
